lying flat may prolong bleeding so prop rop up your head with pillows.
use an ice pack on the outside of your cheek for the first 24 hours and use moist heat and saline water rinses for the following 2 or 3 days.
Avoid physical activity as it may increase bleeding.
Eat soft foods initially and gradually add solid foods to your diet as the healing progresses.
Avoid using a straw for the first few days as it can loosen the blood clot and delay healing.
Avoid smoking for at least 24 hours post your surgery as it decreases the blood supply and brings germs and contaminants to the surgery area.
Do not rub or touch the area with your tongue or fingers.
